After eight months of intensive research and development, TownWorks has presented the Downtown Development Authority with the first draft of the Newnan Central Park master plan. The DDA is reviewing the plan in detail and will present it to City Council for approval in September.

Newnan Central Park
The City of Newnan, Georgia is fortunate to have a busy and well preserved historic downtown district. Without question it is one of the most beautiful and active places in our region. It is an unparalleled asset to our community for many reasons. The goal of this project is to build on the beauty and success of the Court Square district by planning for new economic opportunities and the inevitable population growth that the area must be able to accommodate appropriately.
Have you ever walked or driven through downtown Newnan and wondered what could it be like in the future? What would improve our community? Who would live here or use it? And, what would it take to continue the success and historic nature of the neighborhoods?
Over the last two years we have been determined to answer those very questions and put a plan in place to research and document ways to bring new life to the old Hannah Homes site and other important properties in and around the historic downtown.
Today we refer to this project as the Newnan Central Park Master Plan and we are eager to tell you more about it.
